The Higher Education Commission has launched an innovative project to give awards to Best University Teachers in Universities/Degree Awarding Institutions of the country in order to honour their achievements and recognize their contributions in the field of higher education. In last four years, 131 Awards have been conferred on Best Teachers of Universities/Degree Awarding Institutions. The Award money has since been increased from Rs.40,000/- to Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Hundred Thousand) each as a cash prize along with a certificate.

The nominations for conferment of this award for the year 2004 and 2005 are now being invited from the Universities and Degree Awarding Institutions on the Performa and terms & conditions available at HEC Website as Annexure-I and II. However the following points may be considered before sending the names for the Best University Teachers Award for 2004 & 05.

• The recommendations should be processed through a Committee as laid down under the Terms and Conditions of the Award.
  
  
• All the entries in the Performa should be supported with verifiable evidences, without which no nomination shall be accepted.
  
  
• Teaching, Research and other Scientific achievements in last three years should be attached separately.
