Nominations from UNESCO, ISESCO and Ministries
Introduction

UNESCO, ISESCO and Ministries of Pakistan ask HEC for dissemination of information, nominations and provision of miscellaneous information from time to time. The nominations are mostly requested against trainings, workshops, seminars and other advanced courses in foreign countries. Mostly the nominations against differen facilities are mostly sought from Public Sector Universities which are subsequently forwarded to the concerned department for final consideration.

Prizes/Awards

UNESCO and ISESCO confer prizes/awards in various disciplines from time to time to acknowledge the achievements of the teachers and students. The nominations for the prizes are sought from the Universities of Pakistan by HEC which are then transmitted to the UNESCO and ISESCO for final consideration.

UNESCO Chairs

UNESCO Chairs programme was launched in 1992 in accordance with a resolution adopted by the General Conference of that organization at its 26th session in 1991. This programme operates through the establishment of UNESCO Chairs which cover training, research and exchange of academics and offer a platform for information sharing in all major fields.

The information including terms and conditions of establishing chairs is disseminated to the Public Sector Universities of Pakistan by HEC and proposals regarding the establishment of these chairs are also sought from the Universities by HEC. The proposals once approved by the Competent Authority are forwarded to PNCU for final consideration and onward transmission to UNESCO. 

Scholarships/Fellowships

Scholarships/Fellowships in various disciplines are offered by Economics Affairs Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, UNESCO and ISESCO. Teachers and students are both eligible to apply for the scholarships/fellowships. The information for the scholarships/fellowships as and when offered, is uploaded on the HEC website to enable students and teachers to apply within the deadline.

Conferences/Seminars/Trainings

UNESCO, ISESCO, Economic Affairs Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Education ask for nominations of the conferences/seminars/trainings on education held nationally as well as internationally. The nominations are sought from Universities of Pakistan regarding the conference/seminars relevant to higher education. The nominations received from the Universities are forwarded to the concerned entity hosting the conference/seminar for final consideration.
