Overseas Scholarship Scheme for PhD in Selected Fields (Phase-I)

Dr. M. Ahsan Hashir was awarded scholarship in March 2005 under Overseas Scholarship Scheme for PhD in Selected Fields – Phase 1 for Austria. After the completion of studies from University of Innsbruck in 2008 scholar did not contact HEC. He has breached the “Deed of Agreement” signed with HEC to serve his parent organization/Pakistan for a period of five years.

As per decision of National Scholarship Management Committee (NSMC), the scholar has been asked to refund HEC an amount of Euro 58,388 & PKR 45,862 (cost plus 25% as penalty). Dr. Ahsan Hashir has not refunded the amount and declared as the defaulter of Higher Education Commission (HEC), Government of Pakistan. Legal action is being initiated against him.
