| Introduction |
HEC has launched a scheme to provide partial financial support to an approximate number of 50 teachers/researchers of public sector universities / degree awarding instillations as well as other Pakistani students who are in the final stages of their (respective) Ph. D. studies abroad.
Financial Support:
Financial support which is maximum US$ 15,000/- (only once) under the Partial Support for Ph. D. program will be given to those Pakistani students who are pursuing their respective Ph. D. studies at final stage(s)
Financial Support will cover tuition fee, research or study related dues/fees or living allowances or combination of all but not exceeding US$ 15,000/-. An official document for fee etc. to be paid for completion of Ph.D. program is to be attached with the application. All due payments to university/institution will be made directly to the institution whereas living allowance to the applicant (if approved by the HEC) will be disbursed through (respective) Embassy of Pakistan or its subsidiary office.
The program remains open the whole year and applications are received on roll on basis. Quarterly meetings are held for selection of applicants for award of fellowship.

| Objectives |

To provide financial support upto US $ 15,000/- to Pakistani scholars who are in the final stages of their PhD studies abroad and need partial support (e.g. tuition, thesis evaluation/submission fee, living expenditure etc) without which their PhD degree program will remain incomplete.

To encourage faculty of pubic-sector universities/ DAI and Pakistani scholars who are already registered in doctoral program abroad to complete their studies in shorter time period and return home earlier.

To enhance HRD activities in the Universities/DAIs and produce quality manpower in all field of knowledge with emphasis upon priority discipline.

To establish a long term research collaboration between Pakistani and foreign universities.

| Eligibility Criteria |
- Pakistani nationals studying abroad under PhD program in top 500 universities/institutions as per Times World Ranking of Universities are eligible to apply.
- Applicant must hold a valid Pakistani passport / appropriate visa (relevant pages along with visa endorsement be attached with the application).
- Applicant must be in his/her final year of PhD.
- Applicant, if faculty member in public sector university or degree awarding institution of Pakistan, must apply through his/her parent institution (through VC or Rector or Head of the institution)
- After selection for the award of this scholarship, each applicant will have to submit an Agreement and a Surety Bond containing a commitment endorsed by a Guarantor living in Pakistan that the applicant right after completion of his/her Ph.D studies is bound to come back and serve the country for 2 years, at least.

| How to Apply |
- Attested photocopies of all academics documents including degrees, certificates, and transcripts.
- Detail CV, attested photocopies of National ID Card and Pakistani Passport showing valid visa.
- Supporting letter from the university where the student is enrolled.
- Supporting /forwarding letter with sure bond from parent public sector organization / University in Pakistan.
- Letter from the host university account section with full financial details.
- Surety bond with HEC for 2 years. (non faculty/ Pakistani citizens).
