Talent Farming Scheme
Introduction

The Higher Education Commission invites applications for the award of scholarships at B.Sc./B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. levels, under the Talent Farming Scheme for the Session of 2008. The students studying in B.Sc/B.Sc(Hons) Part-I and have obtained 60% marks (with 60% marks in Science subjects) at F.Sc. level, whereas M.Sc. students (Part-I) must have secured 60% aggregate marks in Science subjects at B.Sc. level are eligible to apply. Stipend shall be paid @ Rs.1000/- p.m. for B.Sc./B.Sc.(Hons) and Rs. 1500/- p.m. for M.Sc. plus Book Allowance @ Rs. 1000/- for B.Sc/B.Sc(Hons) and Rs.1500/-per year for M.Sc. students.

The candidates will be required to take an aptitude test to be conducted by HEC simultaneously at Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Quetta, Peshawar, Mardan, Mansehra, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Faisalabad and Karachi. The test centres could also be established at Attock and Gilgit subject to availability of suitable number of candidates and a suitable place to conduct the test. Test score of each candidate counts 40% weightage with 60% weightage of previous academic attainment to qualify for the scholarship.

Last date for receipt of application forms complete in all respect is
21th June 2008. Incomplete/un-attested documents/applications shall not be entertained. Regional quota is observed.

 

Eligibility Criteria
  • The applicant should be a Pakistani National.
     
  • The applicant should have a PhD from Foreign Reputed University.
     
  • The applicant must have obtained the PhD degree within the past 4 years at the time of submission of application.
     
  • The maximum age limit for the applicant is 45 years at the time of submission of application.
     
  • Preference will be given to those who have recently completed their PhD or are in the final stage of degree completion.

The Roll Number slips are being issued to all the eligible candidates and those not getting Roll Number slips by the first week of May, 2007 may contact the Director Academics-II on mnaqvi@hec.gov.pk
