Quality Based Ranking of HEIs Aiming at International Compatibility

Higher Education Commission (HEC) has taken various initiatives to bring the HEIs of Pakistan at par with international standards. Ranking is one of the measures to scale the success of efforts to achieve the international competitiveness in education, research and innovation. QS World Ranking is considered as one of the effective quality based ranking of the HEIs at international level therefore, HEC desired to build the capacity of HEIs of the country to get more international visibility through reflection in the international rankings including QS Ranking. In this context universities are requested to furnish the desired information to be used for ranking of the HEIs on the new pattern positively by July 15, 2011. The ranking of HEIs of Pakistan will be done on the basis of this data thus need to be provided on top most priority and with great care for authenticity. The universities failed to provide data will be ranked Zero by placing those at the bottom in the ranking list to be published through print media.

In case of any clarification required to fill in the Ranking Proforma, Statistics Unit of HEC is ready to facilitate and a video conference will also be organized for Orientation on QS ranking during the last week of June, 2011.
