A. TO PRESENT PAPER IN NATIONAL/INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES:
Eligibility:
1. Faculty members of universities/degree awarding institutions/centers of higher learning in public and private sector, having approved charter from HEC. The “faculty member” includes:
i. Regular teaching faculty.
ii. Distinguished and meritorious professors.
iii. Engaged through FFHP of HEC.
iv. Hired on contract for at least two years.
2. Non-teaching staff of universities/degree awarding institutions/centers of higher learning in public and private sector, having approved charter from HEC. The “non-teaching” should:
i. Be a permanent employee of the university/DAI.
ii. Hold at least a post-graduate degree (MS Equivalent).
3. Ph.D. students registered with accredited local Universities.
4. Pakistani Ph.D. scholars, studying abroad under HEC or any other government scholarship.
5. MS/M.Phil students, Indigenous scholars or other scholarship holders registered to continue for Ph.D.
6. A requisite for this grant is oral presentation on the basis of peer review of full paper/abstract along with reviewers’ comments.
7. Poster presentations will also be allowed where minimum impact factor score of the applicant is 20 for Engineering and Agriculture disciplines and 30 for Science disciplines.
8. The faculty members can avail two Travel Grants, while PhD scholars one Travel Grant per Fiscal Year.
9. Applications to participate in the world class, top level conference will be considered for funding.
10. Two travel grant will be awarded to each university for the same conference.
Documents Required:
A-1. For oral presentation of paper in national/international conference:
i. Acceptance as “oral presentation” after peer review of full paper/abstract and its publication in the respective conference.(original preferred; photocopy must be attested by Head of Department or Dean)
ii. Conference brochure containing aims, objectives and themes with schedule of charges in respect of registration fee and accommodation etc.
iii. Economy class airfare certificate by the shortest route.
iv. Full text of paper to be presented in hard and soft shape.
v. In case of Ph.D. Scholars, please attach attested copies of scholarship award letter with a copy of registration as Ph.D. or MS/M.Phil. leading to Ph.D. from the university concerned attested by Head of Department or Dean.
vi. In case of co-author, please attach NOC from principal author, duly attested by the Head of Department or Dean.
vii. Brief CV (2-3 pages).
A-2. Additional documents required from PhD or MS/MPhil Leading to PhD Scholars:
* In addition to documents at A-1, following documents are required.
i. In case of Ph.D. Scholars, please attach attested copies of scholarship award letter with a copy of registration letter as Ph.D. or MS/M.Phil. leading to Ph.D. from the university concerned attested by Head of Department or Dean.
ii. Certificate from university authorities, that the applicant meets the HEC minimum criteria for admission in PhD (regular GAT with more than 50% score/GRE International – subject test).
iii. List of courses taken at M.Phil and PhD levels with grades obtained.
iv. CV of the PhD Supervisor with list of publications.
v. Names of PhD Faculty in Department where the applicant is enrolled.
A-3. Additional documents required from Non-Teaching Staff of Universities/DAI’s:
* In addition to documents at A-1, following documents are required.
i. Job Description of the applicant, certified by the university authorities.
ii. Justification of relevance of the Conference and the Research Paper with the Job Description of the applicant.
iii. Justification of benefits of the conference to the personal development and the current professional assignments of the applicant.
A-4. Additional documents required for poster presentation of paper in national/international conference:
* In addition to documents at A-1, following documents are required.
i. Acceptance as “poster presentation” after review of full paper/abstract in the respective conference.(original preferred; photocopy must be attested by Head of Department or Dean)
ii. List of publications with their Impact Factor Score (IFS); the IFS duly verified by the HoD or Dean must be attached.
B. FOR Ph.D. STUDIES:
Eligibility:
i. All citizens of Pakistan.
ii. Registration for higher studies leading to Ph.D in any discipline in an accredited foreign university.
Documents Required:
i. Attested copy of unconditional admission letter from the foreign University concerned.
ii. Copy of Masters’ Degree duly attested by HEC.
iii. Attested copy of award letter for scholarship or financial assistance ship or affidavit about self finance.
iv. Economy Class air fare certified by the airline for shortest route.
v. Surety bond from two guarantors duly attested by the First Class Magistrate, substantiated by the deposit of property documents as collateral, to the effect that the student concerned will return after completion of studies failing which the funds provided by Higher Education Commission shall be refunded to it.
C. POST DOCTORAL STUDIES: (at least nine months duration)
Eligibility:
i. Faculty members of public sector universities/ degree awarding institutions.
ii. Selection / Nomination against an approved program of the HEC/ Government or an offer/acceptance by an International Agency.
Documents Required:
i. Application on prescribed form duly forwarded by the Head of institution (VC).
ii. Attested copy of offer/ nomination letter of Government of Pakistan/International Agency.
iii. Copy of placement letter in an accredited foreign university.
iv. Economy Class air fare certified by the airline for shortest route.
v. Synopsis/ brief description of Post-doc studies.
vi. Brief CV (2-3 pages).
D. VISITS UNDER CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM:
Eligibility:
i. Faculty Members of public sector Universities/Degree Awarding Institutions.
ii. Nomination approved by the Government of Pakistan against any facility under Cultural Exchange Program.
Documents Required:
i. Attested copy of nomination letter of the Government of Pakistan.
ii. Attested copy of Cultural Exchange Program under which visit is proposed.
iii. Attested copy of acceptance letter from the inviting agency/institution.
iv. Economy Class air fare certified by the airline for shortest route.
v. Training/visit program details.
