| Introduction |
The Pakistan Research Repository is an ongoing project of the Higher Education Commission to promote the international visibility of research originating out of institutes of higher education in Pakistan and to be in line with global initiatives in promoting open access to scientific literature.
Currently theses published in Pakistan’s universities are made available with full text downloadable functionality. The repository is being uploaded with new theses.

Objectives:
- To maintain a digital archive of the intellectual research output of Pakistani institutions
- To distribute this information as widely as possible
- To internationally promote the research endeavors of institutes of higher education in Pakistan
- To collect and upload the research work of all PhD scholars from national institutions
- To promote international visibility of national research and publications
- To expand the currently centralized repository into a distrubuted system
