Since 2023, generative AI technology has advanced dramatically with increased capabilities, accessibility, and real-world applications. This framework adopts a technology-agnostic approach, focusing on principles rather than specific tools, ensuring relevance as AI capabilities continue to evolve. The rapid pace of AI development requires Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) to maintain flexibility and regularly review policies to reflect current technological reality.

This framework takes a balanced approach that protects academic integrity while enabling productive use of AI as a professional tool. Rather than broad prohibitions, the framework distinguishes misuse from responsible use, recognizes that AI literacy is essential for graduates, and empowers institutions to develop context-appropriate policies reflecting their educational mission.
