The Higher Education Commission (HEC) is dedicated to actively involve university students in initiatives designed to sharpen their critical thinking, public speaking, and argumentation skills. Through such competitions, participants not only build self-confidence but also cultivate teamwork and the capacity to engage in constructive discussions, embracing diverse viewpoints. Aligned with this vision, we are pleased to announce the Pakistan Universities Debating Championship (PUDC) 2024-25. This prestigious event serves as a dynamic platform for students to showcase their intellectual prowess, foster meaningful dialogue, and participate in healthy, spirited competition that promotes academic growth and mutual respect.
The five Regional Rounds of PUDC will be held in the following cities:
- ICT, Rawalpindi, Wah, Taxila, FATA, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan (Islamabad)
- Punjab (Lahore)
- Sindh (Karachi)
- Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (Peshawar)
- Balochistan (Quetta)
The top three winners from each region will compete in the final National Round to be held in Islamabad in the month of April 2025.
The prize money for teams securing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions in the Regional Round (English & Urdu categories) is Rs. 100,000/-, Rs. 80,000/-, and Rs. 60,000/-, respectively.
