The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan is pleased to announce, as conveyed by the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt vide its communication dated 19 May 2026, Al-Azhar University, Egypt, has increased the number of scholarships for Pakistani students from 30 to 50 for admission to the Bachelor's Program in Shari'ah Sciences (Islamic Studies).
Eligible Pakistani students are encouraged to apply for this prestigious scholarship opportunity and pursue undergraduate studies at one of the world's leading institutions of Islamic learning.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
Last Date for Submission of Applications and Hard copies is: 29 June 2026
Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit complete applications and supporting documents well before the deadline. Incomplete applications and applications received after the closing date will not be considered.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a Pakistani/AJK national.
- Must possess educational qualifications in Shari'ah Sciences, Islamic Studies, Shahadat-ul-Alamiya, Dars-e-Nizami or other equivalent Islamic studies disciplines recognized by the relevant authorities.
- Applicants holding qualifications in disciplines other than Islamic Studies or Shari'ah Sciences are not eligible for this scholarship program.
- Must fulfill the admission requirements prescribed by Al-Azhar University and the relevant authorities of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
- Must submit complete application documents before the prescribed deadline.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Interested candidates are required to submit clear print copies of the following documents in either Arabic or English to the address mentioned below:
- Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary Certificate or Bachelor's Degree (attested by the IBCC/HEC and Ministry of Foreign Affairs)
- Academic Transcripts/Result Cards
- Six Passport-Size Photographs
- Birth Certificate (attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs)
- Valid Passport Copy
- Character Certificate
- Medical Certificate
- No Objection Certificate in case of employee/job (where applicable), attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Admission Form
- Endorsement Form for Islamic Missions

SUBMISSION OF DOCUMENTS
First apply on online application portal, after submission of your application form download and print the application form and complete the set of required documents as mentioned above. Make 2 complete set of photocopies of your documents, the documents should be from both front and back and the attestation stamps of IBCC and MOFA should be visible and clear.
Make 2 set of photocopies and submit the hard copies of the documents to the address mentioned below:
