Government of Bangladesh Admission Announcement for Academic Session 2025–26

​​The Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME), Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, has invited applications from eligible foreign candidates for admission to MBBS and BDS programs in Government Medical Colleges, Government Dental Colleges and affiliated Dental Units for the academic session 2025–26 in Bangladesh.

Seats Allocated for Pakistani Students

  • 21 MBBS seats
  • 2 BDS seats

Deadline:

  • Submission of applications online through HEC scholarship portal and hard copies by post is: 21 December 2025

Note-I: Applicants are required to read the complete below mentioned details/ information carefully.

Note-II: The USAT/HAT test is not required for applicants. The initial selection process will be done by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. Detailed eligibility criteria and selection procedures are provided below.

Note-III: It is the sole responsibility of students applying for any professional degree (Medical, Engineering, Nursing, Architecture, Law, Veterinary Medicine, technology etc.) to confirm its accreditation from the respective Councils i.e. Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) etc.

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Visit at: http://scholarship.hec.gov.pk/. After registering and completing your profile. click “Learning Opportunities Abroad” for Bangladesh Scholarship (SAARC-MBBS & BDS) application submission. Deadline for submission of online application form is 21 December 2025.​

      Note: Please upload the three specified documents (Duly filled SAARC Application Form, Passport, Applicant Domicile) as a single PDF file under the “Foreign Admission Form" section in the document details on the HEC scholarship portal.​
  2. Deadline for the submission of Hard Copies to HEC is 21 December 2025.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  1. Applicants must submit the application form along with all required documents before the mentioned deadline.
  2. Online application and by post documents submission after the deadline (21 December 2025) will not be considered for the selection process.
  3. Before applying, please update your HEC profile with your latest email address, mobile number and other relevant information. It is strongly recommended to complete and submit your application as early as possible, as the online system may experience heavy traffic close to the deadline. After successfully submitting your application on the HEC portal.
  4. Only applications marked as submitted will be considered for selection process. Applications marked as saved will not be considered.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Download and duly complete the SAARC APPLICATION FORM
  • Fill all fields of application form accurately (subjects marks should be exactly according to your certificate/mark sheet) and attach attested educational certificates.
  • Scan all original documents, SAARC application form (images should be clear and visible) and upload all documents on HEC scholarship portal.
  • Any misinformation or incorrect details/information will result in cancellation of the application.
  • Send attested documents to HEC before the deadline for consideration to the below mentioned address. Any physical and online document after the deadline will not be considered for the process.
  • Any misprinted or blurred document will also result in cancellation.

SUBMISSION OF MANDATORY HARD COPIES (BY POST):

  • Matriculation, Intermediate (Result cards and Certificates)
  • O/A-level (Result cards/certificates and Equivalency Certificates)
  • Two (2) sets of coloured photocopies of all documents (attested by 17 or above grade gazetted officer), photocopies should be visible and clear, note that all photocopies of documents should be from both sides front and back with clear visible attestation stamps (of IBCC and MOFA).

    Applicants can also submit their application in person (if possible)

Receiving documents by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) does not guarantee the award of a scholarship. Only candidates selected on merit will be considered for further processing by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

  • 2 set of coloured photocopies of all documents (attested by 17 or above grade gazetted officer)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Academic Background:
    Completion of secondary and higher secondary (or equivalent) examinations with required science subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Note: O-Level/A-Level applicants must provide subject grades and evidence used for equivalence. Candidates who are currently enrolled are not eligible.

Applicants who have possession of their final mark sheet (Intermediate mark sheet) are eligible for application.

  • Minimum Academic Standard / Equivalence (Refer Annexure-D of the SAARC application form):
    • Must meet Bangladesh equivalence criteria for SSC/HSC or O-Level/A-Level.
    • Applicants with foreign qualifications must obtain equivalence where applicable.
    • Minimum aggregated GPA: 8.50 (combined O-Level and A-Level) on a 5.00 scale.
    • Minimum grade point in Biology: 3.50 in A-Level or Intermediate examination.
    • A GPA score of less than 4.00 in any single exam will not be considered.
    • For GPA calculation, only the top five subjects in O-Level or equivalent exams will be considered.
    • For GPA calculation, only three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) in A-Level or equivalent exams will be considered.

Additional Requirements

  • Age Limit: Applicants must be under 25 years of age as of December 31, 2025.
  • Language of Instruction: MBBS/BDS programs are delivered in English; candidates should be comfortable studying in English.
  • Medical Fitness: Applicants must be medically fit and free from any condition that will hinder clinical training. Medical certificate may be required after selection.

  • Ensure academic qualifications meet equivalency requirements for medical/dental admission in Bangladesh.
