VACANT HEADS OF
SEERAT CHAIRS Higher Education Commission
(HEC) intends to establish seven (7) Seerat Chairs under the project titled “Establishment of Seerat Chairs in in
Public Sector Universities (Revised)” to conduct scholarly
research on the following themes of the life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. |

1 | Leadership and Governance | PhD Degree from HEC recognized university/
institution in the relevant field with special focus on Governance;
Leadership; Public Policy; Public Administration and Political Science, etc. |
2 | Human Rights and Social Justice | PhD Degree from HEC recognized university/
institution in the relevant field with special focus on Human Rights; Law;
International Humanitarian Law; Social Welfare; Social Work; Social Justice;
and Activism, etc. |
3 | Business, Commerce & Property Rights | PhD Degree from HEC recognized university/
institution in the relevant field with special focus on Commerce; Management
Sciences; Economics; Business Administration; and Intellectual Property
Rights, etc. |
4 | Education and Knowledge | PhD Degree from HEC recognized university/
institution in the relevant field with special focus on Education,
Educational Leadership and Administration; Knowledge Management; Equity and
Innovation in Education; and Cognitive & Cultural Systems, etc. |
5 | Social Justice and Welfare | PhD Degree from HEC recognized
university/institution in the relevant field with special focus on Sociology;
Social Work; Human Rights; Social Welfare; Community Welfare; and Development
Studies, etc. |
6 | Gender Studies & Women’s Rights | PhD Degree from HEC recognized university/
institution in the relevant field with special focus on Gender Studies; Women
Rights; and Women Development, etc. |
7 | Global Peace | PhD Degree from HEC recognized university/
institution in the relevant field with special focus on Peace and Conflict
Studies; International Relations; Conflict Resolution; Political Science;
Counter Terrorism, and Deradicalization; Strategic Studies; Global Studies,
etc. |
Application Process: - The tenure of appointment will initially be for a period of two
years, and extendable upon satisfactory performance for another two years.
- Retired Professors/Associate Professors will be given a lump-sum
salary of Rs. 437,000/- per month.
- There will be a review of performance after one year. If the Search
Committee feels that performance is unsatisfactory, the appointment shall be
cancelled on a one-month notice.
