The scholars are
bound to complete Ph.D. studies within specific period of time. To ensure the
timely completion of MS/MPhil/Ph.D. studies, the scholars are required to take
at- least 09 credit work load per semester in any
case.
It
is strictly advised to send the Academic Progress Report & Funds Utilization
Report (Two months before the end of already released funds on HEC prescribed
format available at website) in time so that next due funds may be released
accordingly .
The MS /MPhil
enrolled scholars are required to enroll in Ph.D. program without any gap and
Ph.D. funds will only be released after provision of Ph.D. admission letter.
It is responsibility
of scholars to meet the deadlines informed through HEC correspondence to avoid
complication in their scholarship cases.
The usual mode of
communication for scholars at HEC is website and emails. Therefore, the scholars
are required to check their emails regularly.
The scholars are
required to be a full time regular scholar during entire period of studies. It
is responsibility of employed scholars to provide a valid study leave document
for the release of funds.
Selected candidates will be required to complete entire requirements of MS/MPhil Program and the university shall award the student MS/MPhil degree before he/she enters in to Ph.D. program.
For admission in PhD, the candidate must have secured CGPA 3/4 (or 3.75/5) in semester system and 1st division in annual system pertaining to his/her MS/MPhil degree.
It is not allowed to
take semester breaks during entire period of study; however scholars can be
granted breaks on medical grounds with the approval of HEC on provision of
medical certificates and reports.
It is responsibility
of the scholar to keep liaison with HEC Indigenous Project Management Unit and
scholar must keep on updating PMU about any noticeable event in any
case.
The scholars are
responsible in case there is any change of postal address, email and phone/cell
numbers, to have an uninterrupted
communication.
HEC do not allow
distance learning program for Indigenous scholars, please make sure that you are
enrolled in face to face campus base learning degree to avoid complication in
your scholarship case.
The Ph.D. scholar is
instructed to get enrolled under the supervision of HEC approved supervisor who
must be supervising the prescribed limit of scholars defined by HEC Quality
Assurance division. Please be clear HEC will not release the funds of the
scholar if supervisor is not HEC approved or updating profile at HEC
website.
The scholar is
required to ensure that he/she has acknowledged the role of HEC in his final
Ph.D. thesis.
The scholar is
required to forward the profile format available on HEC website for HEC record.
Further, it should highlight the remarkable achievement /
distinctions.
The last 6 months
funds will be released on the successful submission/completion of PhD thesis for
external evaluation to university/DAIs.
The scholars are
expected for their cooperation as and when required after Ph.D. completion as
well.
- No candidate is allowed to avail dual scholarship from HEC/Government during his/her MS/PhD studies.
The scholars are
required to serve mandatory period to Pakistan after successful completion of
his/her Ph.D. studies in any case.
To facilitate HEC
scholars, most probable scholar’s queries have already been addressed and
replies are available at HEC website make sure to spend some time checking HEC
Indigenous website before making any query.
In case of default or
not meeting the criteria of HEC scholar would be liable to refund entire
released amount with 25% penalty. In addition HEC also reserve the right to
initiate any disciplinary action which may lead to filing a civil suit in the
court of Law.
Those scholars who
have completed their Ph.D. must inform the HEC in time and provide Ph.D.
completion Performa along with requisite documents (available at website),
required by this office on Ph.D. completion.

Note: - Please
be informed that all time to time policy guide lines issued by HEC would be
applicable to all Indigenous scholars and they would be required to abide by all
that without
exception.
