Pakistan Civil Awards

​​​​​Awards are conferred upon the teachers and administration of Universities / Degree Awarding Institutions in recognition of their achievements and services rendered for the development of the institution and society.

The Government of Pakistan, Islamabad invites nominations every year for different categories of Civil Awards to be announced by the President, of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on 14th August, while the investiture for these awards takes place on Pakistan Day i.e. 23rd March every year.

At the HEC level, the following Civil Awards are being dealt:

  1. Hilal-i-Imtiaz
  2. Sitara-i-Imtiaz
  3. Pride of Performance
  4. Tamgha-i-Imtiaz

Justified nominations from public/private sector universities/DAIs are to be sent to HEC by the recommending authority i.e. Vice Chancellor/Rector, highlighting Academic Distinction for Civil Awards and ensuring the highest level of merit and transparency. Nominating youngsters should also be taken into consideration in order to encourage the youth to work beyond the call of duty.

The applicants who have already received any Civil Award should write all their achievements after the year of said Award as their previous achievements will not be considered.

Incomplete applications and nominations received after due date will not be entertained.

The last date to submit nominations to HEC on prescribed forms is 10th January, 2026​
