Prime Minister's Initiative on Productive Employment Country of Destination Centers (CDCs)
Pakistan produces a large and growing pool of university graduates every year in engineering, medicine, allied health sciences, information technology, business, commerce, management, hospitality, social sciences and other disciplines. The graduates possess formal academic qualifications, in addition many requires additional language proficiency, practical competencies, professional certifications, workplace skills, cultural awareness and knowledge of international regulatory and licensing requirements to compete effectively in global market.
Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development identified countries facing shortages of qualified professionals and skilled human resources in sectors relevant to Pakistan's graduate population. This presents an opportunity to convert Pakistan's educated workforce into a strategic national asset through structured preparation for international employment.
On the directive of Prime Minister of Pakistan, country wise Country of Destination Centers (CDCs) were established at selected Pakistani Universities/HEIs
The CDCs will serve as specialized international employability, skills development and prepared graduate for overseas placement, designed to bridge the gap between Pakistani HEIs qualifications and the academic, technical, professional, linguistic, regulatory and workplace requirements of selected international job markets.
Each CDC may initially specialize in selected countries of destination and occupational sectors, based on job-market demand, skills shortages, migration pathways, regulatory requirements and employment opportunities.
