What is the Objective of this scholarship?
- Provision of higher education opportunities to students from Balochistan and Erstwhile FATA through enrolling them in educational institution of other province and supporting them by paying their tuition fee and other living expenses.
- Opportunity to access to higher education and hence will improve their economic condition on a microeconomic level, resulting in positive effects on macroeconomic development of Balochistan and Erstwhile FATA.
- Enhance participation of students from Balochistan and Erstwhile FATA at different levels of education and hence contribute to regional and national economy.
- Provide grooming & learning opportunities and better job opportunities to the youth of less privileged areas.
- To keep the regional balance in acquisition of quality higher education for all federating units of Pakistan.
How many Scholarships are available for undergraduate program in every Batch?
There are 1000 Scholarships available. The scholarship distribution ratio for the students of Balochistan & Erstwhile FATA is 50:50.
What is the eligibility criteria of the scholarship?
Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship is as under:
1. Applicants age must be less than or equal to 22 years on closing date given in the advertisement for the Scholarship Program. No age relaxation will be allowed.
2. Applicant must have his/her own and father's valid domicile or local certificate of Balochistan/Erstwhile FATA duly signed/Verified by district administration.
3. Applicants must have completed 12 years of education with at least 60% marks in FA/FSc/ICOM/ICS/DAE and or equivalent for availing scholarship program. Applicant cannot apply for scholarship if their percentage is less than the required 60% percentage.
4. The applicants who are already availing any other HEC/Government scholarship are not eligible to apply.
5. Applicants must have acquired the requisite academic qualifications on or before the closing date of the advertisement.
6. Students awaiting result are not eligible to apply.
Can I apply if I am waiting for my intermediate results?
No, students awaiting results are not eligible to apply.
Can I apply if my domicile is from outside Balochistan or erstwhile FATA?
No, Only applicants with a valid domicile/local certificate from Balochistan or erstwhile FATA are eligible.
Can I apply if I am already enrolled in a Bachelor's program?
Yes, if you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply even if you are already enrolled in a Bachelor's program.
I am already availing financial assistance/scholarship/placement from HEC/University/Institution or any other, am I eligible for this scholarship?
Students already availing financial assistance/scholarship from any HEC/universities/institutions are NOT eligible to apply.
Do I need an IBCC equivalence certificate if I have done O-levels & A-levels?
Yes, you will need an IBCC equivalence certificate to be considered for the scholarship.
What is Balochistan IN/OUT and FATA IN/OUT?
The applicants who have studied at FA/FSc (Intermediate level) in the institutions located within the districts of Balochistan or tribal districts or frontier regions of Erstwhile FATA fall under the category BALOCHISTAN IN and FATA IN respectively.
Those who have studied at FA/FSc (Intermediate level) in the institutions outside Balochistan and Erstwhile FATA fall under BALOCHISTAN OUT and FATA OUT category respectively.
What's the distribution of scholarships for Balochistan IN/OUT and FATA IN/OUT?
Balochistan IN & FATA IN : 90 % scholarships
Balochistan OUT & FATA OUT : 10 % scholarships
90% scholarships will be awarded on population basis to those students, who have done FA/FSc/I.Com/A Level or equivalent from the districts of Balochistan or Tribal Districts/Sub Divisions of erstwhile FATA and they will fall under category FATA IN and Balochistan IN.
10% scholarships will be awarded for Balochistan OUT and FATA OUT Category.
Can I send my application through courier or submit by hand?
Applications must be submitted online through the HEC website. Hard copy submissions are NOT accepted.
What documents need to be uploaded on the HEC web portal when applying?
All applicants should ensure that a duly attested copy of the CNIC (Front/Back), applicant's and father/guardian's domicile (duly attested by the district administration), and educational documents (duly attested by the respective boards) are uploaded.
What format and the maximum file size allowed for documents?
All required documents must be uploaded in PDF format, with each file not exceeding 5 MB in size.
What is the best time to apply for the scholarship.
The applicants are advised not to wait till last date and apply well before the closing date to get assistance in case of any inconvenience. It is the responsibility of applicants to get their queries / complaints resolved before the closure of web registration portal.
What are the key points about which applicants should be careful while applying?
- Application forms with any false statement by the applicant are rejected.
- If any certificate submitted by the applicant is found false, forged or have concealed any information at any step, his/her application shall be cancelled.
- All applicants must appropriately fill the application form. Incomplete/not properly filled form in any respect will be rejected.
The applicant must submit the online application after completing the application form and ensure receipt of an email for successful submission. Saved and Incomplete applications in any respect will NOT be considered.
Is there any scholarship application processing/test fee?
The applicants are required to deposit Rs.500/- (Nonrefundable) as an application/test fee.
What is the procedure of submission of procession fee?
The fee can be paid via 1Link 1Bill Invoice at participating banks, ATMs, or through mobile/internet banking.
- To submit the fee, select 1Link 1bill Invoice payment service. Open/sign in into your mobile app and click on Bill payment or payment services (as your mobile banking app options). Click on 1Bill Invoice payment service and enter the consumer number generated by the HEC portal. Once you see the details, pay the amount. (The test fee is non refundable/non transferable).
Is it mandatory to click on “Verify Online Payment" after payment ?
The applicant should ensure that application has been submitted by clicking on “Submit Application / Verify Payment" & receival of acknowledgement email.
How can I change/update/edit my data/certificates after submission of application form?
All applicants are advised to be very careful while apply and enter correct marks, IN/OUT category and upload required certificates/documents. Applicants must double check all the data before submitting the application form. Application once submitted will not be changed/edited/updated and data will be considered final and merit will be calculated as per provided data.
Do I need to appear in the HEC test if I have already cleared other entry tests such as the NTS(NAT)/ETC(USAT)/NMDCAT Test (or any other entry Test?
Yes, it is mandatory for every applicant to appear in the test after advertisement, conducted by HEC/ETC for award of undergraduate scholarships.
What is the Passing Marks in test and how applicants will be shortlisted for the test.
Applicants must secure at least 50% marks in the test. Applicants will be short-listed on the basis of Aptitude Test score (conducted by HEC) and Academic Credentials.
How will the merit be calculated?
Applicants will be short-listed on the basis of Aptitude Test Score (conducted by HEC) and Academic Credentials Scores.
Academic record will have 50% weightage (20% SSC and 30% HSSC) and HEC/ETC Aptitude test will have 50% weightage for undergraduate program.
How will I receive updates about the test or merit list?
The applicants are advised to check their emails & HEC website regularly for any updates.
What Test category should I select?
HEC test will be conducted as per the discipline of Intermediate, all applicants are advised to be very careful while selecting their test category while applying for scholarship. No request for change in any submitted data (specially test city/category) will be entertained.
Will the scholarships be awarded on Open Merit?
Scholarships will be awarded on Merit and District Quota.
Can I apply for nomination against HEC reserved seats for the students of Balochistan and erstwhile FATA only?
The primary objective of this project is to provide scholarship (financial assistance) however, HEC has limited reserved seats in various disciplines in Public Sector Universities/Institutes for HEC scholars of Balochistan and erstwhile FATA. The applicant should try to get admission through normal channel (open merit / any other reserved seat) as HEC cannot guarantee the placement on limited reserved seats. Placements on reserved seats will be on open merit for selected scholars only. PMC/Respective Engineering Universities minimum eligibility criteria will be applicable. Those who are already enrolled in Medical Colleges and Engineering Programs will not be considered against the reserved seats but shall be considered for offer of scholarship, if on Merit.
I am already enrolled in Medical/Dental College/Engineering Program, am I eligible for Placement on reserved seats?
Those who are already enrolled in Medical/Dental Colleges and MBBS/BDS/Engineering Programs will not be considered against the reserved seats but shall be considered for offer of scholarships, if on Merit.
Can I apply for Placement on HEC reserved seats only?
Placements on reserved seats will be on open merit for selected scholars only. PMC/Respective Engineering Universities minimum eligibility criteria will be applicable.
Do I need to sign any legal bond with HEC after selection?
All provisionally selected applicant will have to sign legal bond on a judicial stamp paper and agree with all the terms and conditions.
Can I get admission in any University / Institute of Pakistan?
Scholarship will be awarded to applicants for Undergraduate studies in only HEC recognized public/Private sector Universities/Degree Awarding Institutes of Pakistan.
What is the duration of scholarship?
Duration of the scholarship for undergraduate degree is 1 year extendable annually up to 4-5 years as per the program enrolled subject to satisfactory academic performance.
What kind of expenses are covered under the Undergraduate scholarship program?
Scholarship Program Covers:
- Average Tuition Fee and other charges including Hostel Fee up to Rs. 200,000 per year.
- Living Allowance of Rs. 12,000 per month.
- Book Allowance of Rs. 10,000 per Annum.
- Traveling Allowance of Rs. 10,000 per Annum.
- Initial Settlement Allowance of Rs. 20,000 (Once during total study period).
