I am waiting for my intermediate result, am I eligible to apply?

As mentioned in the advertisement, applicant must have acquired the requisite academic qualification on or before the closing date. Result awaiting students are not eligible to apply.

My domicile is other than Balochistan/Erstwhile FATA, am I eligible to apply?

Only applicants having valid domicile/local certificate of Balochistan and erstwhile FATA are eligible to apply

What is Balochistan IN/OUT and FATA IN/OUT?

The applicants who have studied at F.Sc (Intermediate level) in the institutions located within the districts of Balochistan or tribal districts or frontier regions of Erstwhile FATA fall under the category BALOCHISTAN IN and FATA IN respectively. Those who have studied at F.Sc (Intermediate level) in the institutions outside Balochistan and erstwhile FATA/FRs fall under BALOCHISTAN OUT and FATA OUT category respectively.

What's the distribution of scholarships for Balochistan IN/Out and FATA IN/Out?

       Balochistan IN & FATA IN          :           90 % scholarships

      Balochistan OUT & FATA OUT   :          10 % scholarships

90% scholarships will be awarded on population basis to those students, who have done FA/FSc/I.Com/A Level or equivalent from the districts of Balochistan or tribal districts or frontier regions of erstwhile FATA and they will fall under category FATA IN and Balochistan IN.

10% scholarships will be awarded for Balochistan OUT and FATA OUT Category.

If I have already cleared the NTS/SAT/NMDCAT Test (or any other entry Test), would I be required to appear in the HEC Test for this Scholarship?

Yes, it is mandatory for every applicant to appear in the test after advertisement, conducted by HEC for award of undergraduate scholarships.

What is the eligibility criteria of the scholarship?

Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship is as under:

  • ​Candidates age must be less than or equal to 22 years on closing date of advertisement for the Scholarship Program. No age relaxation will be allowed.
  • Candidate must have valid domicile or local certificate of Balochistan/erstwhile FATA duly signed by district administration.
  • Candidates must have completed 12 years of education with at least 60% marks in FA/F.Sc./I.COM/ICS/DAE and equivalent for scholarship program. candidate cannot apply for scholarship if their percentage is less than the required percentage.
  • The candidates who are already availing any other HEC/Government scholarship are not eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must have acquired the requisite academic qualifications on or before the closing date of the advertisement
  • Students awaiting result will not be eligible to apply.

I have done O-levels & A-levels, do I need IBCC equivalence certificate?

Yes, equivalence certificates will be required for the award of scholarship.

I am already enrolled in Bachelor's program, am I eligible for scholarship.

Students already enrolled in any Bachelor's program may also apply, if eligible.

I am already availing financial assistance/scholarship/placement from HEC/University/Institution or any other, am I eligible for this scholarship?

Students already availing financial assistance/scholarship from any HEC/universities/institutions are not eligible to apply.

Can I send my application through courier or submit by hand?

Only online applications are acceptable. Applications submitted in hard form will not be entertained.

Can I get admission in any University / Institute of Pakistan?

Scholarship will be awarded to candidates for Undergraduate studies in only HEC recognized public/Private sector Universities/Degree Awarding Institutes of Pakistan.

What is the best time to apply for the scholarship.

The applicants are advised not to wait till last day and apply well before the closing date to get assistance in case of any inconvenience.

Is there any scholarship application processing fee?

The applicants are required to deposit Rs.500/- (Nonrefundable) as application fee in HBL Account Number 17427900133401 and should upload the scanned/Image online while applying. Applicant must keep the original deposit slip safe for future requirement.

What is the duration of scholarship?

Duration of the scholarship for undergraduate degree is 1 year extendable annually up to 4-5 years as per the program enrolled subject to satisfactory academic performance.

What kind of expenses are covered under the Undergraduate scholarship program?

Scholarship Program Covers:

  • Average Tuition Fee and other charges including Hostel Fee up to Rs. 200,000 per year.
  • Living Allowance of Rs. 12,000 per month.
  • Book Allowance of Rs. 10,000 per Annum.
  • Traveling Allowance of Rs. 10,000 per Annum.
  • Initial Settlement Allowance of Rs. 20,000 (Once during total study period).

How many Scholarships are available for undergraduate program in Batch–I?

There are 1000 Scholarships available. The scholarship distribution ratio for the students of Balochistan & FATA is 50:50.

Will the scholarships be awarded on Open Merit?

Scholarships will be awarded on Merit and District Quota.

What is the Passing Marks in test and how applicants will be shortlisted for the test.

Applicants have to secure at least 50% marks in the test. Applicants will be short-listed on the basis of Aptitude Test score (conducted by HEC) and Academic Credentials.

How candidates will be shortlisted & what is the criteria?

Candidates will be short-listed on the basis of Aptitude Test Score (conducted by HEC) and Academic Credentials Scores. Academic record will have 50% weightage and Aptitude test will have 50% weightage for undergraduate program.

Do I need to sign any legal bond with HEC after selection?

All provisionally selected candidate will have to sign bond on a judicial stamp paper and agree with all the terms and conditions.

Can I apply for nomination against HEC reserved seats for the students of Balochistan and FATA?

The primary objective of this project is to provide scholarship (financial assistance) however, HEC has limited reserved seats in various disciplines in Public Sector Universities/Institutes for HEC scholars of Balochistan and FATA. The applicant should try to get admission through normal channel (open merit / any other reserved seat) as HEC cannot guarantee the placement on limited reserved seats. Placements on reserved seats will be on open merit for selected scholars only. PM&DC/PMC/Respective Engineering Universities minimum eligibility criteria / rules and regulations will be applicable. Those who are already enrolled in Medical Colleges and Engineering Programs will not be considered against the reserved seats but shall be considered for offer of scholarship, if on Merit.

I am already enrolled in Medical/Dental College/Engineering Program, am I eligible for Placement on reserved seats?

Those who are already enrolled in Medical/Dental Colleges and Engineering Programs will not be considered against the reserved seats but shall be considered for offer of scholarships, if on Merit.

Can I apply for Placement on HEC reserved seats only?

Placements on reserved seats will be on open merit for selected scholars only. PM&DC/PMC/Respective Engineering Universities minimum eligibility/rules and regulations criteria will be applicable.

How will I get any update about Test/Merit list or any other?

The applicants are advised to check their emails & HEC website regularly for any updates.

How can I change/update/edit my data/certificates after submission of application form?

All applicants are advised to be very careful while apply and enter correct marks, IN/OUT category and upload required certificates/documents. Applicants must double check all the data before submitting the application form. Application once submitted will not be changed/edited/updated and data will be considered final and merit will be calculated as per provided data.

What are the important points about which applicants should be careful while applying?

    1. Application forms with any false statement by the candidate will be rejected.
    2. If any certificate submitted by the candidate is found false, forged or concealed any information at any step, his/her application shall be cancelled.
    3. All applicants must appropriately fill the application form. Incomplete/not properly filled form in any respect will be rejected.
    4. All applicants must submit the application form application. HEC will not consider any SAVED application form. 

What Test Category should I select?

HEC test will be conducted as per the discipline of Intermediate, all applicants are advised to be very careful while selecting their test category. No request for change in submitted data (specially Test City/Category) will be entertained.
