The project 'Faculty Development Program for Pakistani Universities' (FDP) was commenced in 2016-17 to support 2,000 non-PhD serving faculty members of HEC recognized universities/DAIs having master degree with minimum 18 years of education and age limit of maximum 45 years. FDP project is a split PhD scholarships program wherein a scholar starts the initial research in Pakistan and at any point during research he/she would be required to proceed abroad for a maximum period up to 12 months for foreign session in world top 500 QS ranked universities abroad.
