- It is mandatory for applicants to submit online applications at the Hungarian website and HEC website. Failure to submit online application forms on BOTH websites mentioned at Step (1) and Step (2) will not be considered for further processing.
- The registration for the HAT/USAT is tentatively scheduled to open on December 8, 2025 and the test is expected to be held on February 1, 2026. The result of this test would be applicable and the final opportunity for eligibility under Hungary Scholarship 2026-27 applications. For registration visit https://etc.hec.gov.pk/
- Hard copies of applications and other documents are not required at the initial stage. However, applicants are required to keep record of all the submitted documents along with printed copies of both application forms (submitted online at HEC website & Hungarian website).
Step (1) Tempus Public Foundation (Hungarian side) Online Application:
All applications shall be submitted through the online application system of Tempus Public Foundation Hungary. The application guideline can be found at:
All applicants are advised to use the same email address and active contact number that were used during registration on the HEC and TPF Scholarship Portal. If different email addresses or contact numbers have been used on either portal, please ensure that you have access to both. HEC and TPF will contact applicants using the details provided in their application forms.
Step (2) HEC Online Application:
- Apply online at: http://scholarship.hec.gov.pk/. After registering and completing your profile, please select "Hungarian Scholarship Program". Once submitted the HEC application form cannot be edited or amended, therefore, make sure to complete all relevant fields and submit the application by reviewing carefully. After submission of the application, get its printed copy to be signed by applicant. HEC online application portal shall close on January 15, 2026 (1600 Hours Pakistan Standard Time).
- Before applying, kindly update your HEC profile with latest email/cell number & updated information. You are advised to complete and submit your application as soon as possible, as the online application system will be very busy in the days leading up to the application deadline. After successful submission of the application at HEC portal, retain printed copy application form signed by yourself.
Submission of online applications at https://stipendiumhungaricum.hu/apply/ & scholarship.hec.gov.pk portals are mandatory. In case of non-submission of forms on any of the above two portals, candidature will not be considered.
- Potential applicants enrolled in their existing study programs and waiting result candidates are allowed to apply subject submission of final degrees and transcripts on https://stipendiumhungaricum.hu/apply/ before August 01, 2026. In case of failure of submission of required documents as per prescribed requirement, candidature of applicant may be cancelled.
- All of the following documents are compulsory and need to be submitted to the online Stipendium Hungaricum application system by all applicants until 15 January 2026 1600 hours.

| Medical certificate | - Mandatory only for those who will receive a scholarship. We strongly advise that nominated applicants start this process on time (after receiving the result of the nomination)
- The medical certificate of satisfactory health condition must be issued and signed by a physician to declare the medical condition of the applicant (according to the diseases listed on the form). The template describes the attachments that are required to be presented.
- The certificate must be recently issued. It means that the date of the issue on the document cannot be earlier than 1 November 2025.
Scholarship holders should not upload the certificate to the online system, but they must bring it to Hungary and present it along with the attachments during the compulsory medical examination in Hungary.

NOTE: - All documents that cannot be obtained or produced in the language of the selected study programme or in Hungarian must be translated, and the translations must be submitted together with a copy of the original document to the corresponding task in the online application system (if required by the Hungarian institutions).
ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS
- Please be extra cautious when selecting your preferred study programmes in the Stipendium Hungaricum online application system as most of the study programmes are offered as both full-degree and partial study programmes; therefore, those programmes appear twice. Please make sure that you select the programme marked with the study mode of your desire, because it is impossible to change the study mode after the application deadline.
- Applicants applying for Doctoral level (PhD) need to upload the following documents. All of the following documents are compulsory and need to be submitted online until January 15, 2026 at 1600 hrs (Pakistan Standard Time) except Statement of Supervisor.

- HEC may conduct test/interviews of initially shortlisted candidates.
- Incomplete application or applications received after due date will NOT be accepted. The recommendation of nominating agency i.e. HEC will be final and binding.
- Only applications marked as SUBMITTED on HEC scholarship portal will be entertained.
- Result-awaiting candidates and previous HEC nominees of this scholarship may apply afresh subject to eligibility criteria and conditions laid down by TPF, but final degree and transcript must be submitted at https://stipendiumhungaricum.hu/apply/ before August 01, 2026.
- Candidates must note that once he/she is nominated by HEC or finally selected by Tempus Public Foundation Hungary, any request for change of subject/discipline/study programme made by him/her shall not be entertained in any case (HEC will not issue any NOC for change of discipline). If a candidate withdraws himself/herself from the scholarship after the final award, he/she shall be liable to disciplinary action including ban of a certain period from applying to any foreign funded/HEC/Government of Pakistan scholarship programmes.
- All applicants should note that all nominations for the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship program, from Pakistan will be routed through HEC.
