The Pak-UK Education Gateway is a flagship partnership between the Higher Education Commission and the British Council. Based on the principle of reciprocity and mutual value, and executed as a joint PSDP project costing Rs.1972.390 million - HEC Rs.1072.366 (54%) & British Council Rs.900.024 million (46%) – the partnership supports system to system engagement for (i) Innovative, Impactful and Collaborative Research, (ii) Higher Education Leadership Improvement, (iii) Quality Assurance and Standard Setting, (iv) Distance Learning, (v) International Mobility, and (vi) Transnational Education. Important policy and development work such as new Quality Assurance Framework for Higher Education, Joint Research, a localized Research Excellence Framework and Teaching Excellence Framework, revised Transnational Education Policy, and support for the preparation of Online and Distance Learning Policy are a few hallmarks of the project. While the project would conclude by June 2025, the HEC envisages to continue, enhance, and deepen partnership with UK Government and higher education sector.
