Higher Education Management Information System and Data Driven Services ($ 35 M)
The Component 4 (C4) focuses on integrating key data of all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in one platform. A central higher education data repository is being established to collect data from HEIs.
The platform of central higher education national database called the Higher Education Data Repository (HEDR) has already been developed. The data from 36 universities is populated there while it is planned to onboard all HEIs (more than 250 across Pakistan) both public as well as private to populate their data into the HEDR. In a phased approach HEC will sign MoUs with all HEIs. After ensuring the data privacy and protection matters, HEDP will move forward on this to bring in all granular data into the system. Likewise annual reports will be published from the system giving decision-makers key insights on the national landscape of faculty, programs offered in various regions, student clustering based on areas of expertise, gender distributions, etc.
HEDR will play a key role in the data-driven planning of existing as well as new higher education initiatives.

HEDP had published an annual report for the year 2021-22 earlier. This report has been drafted using the data retrieved by the project team from various HEIs/universities which are on board for this project activity.
