Study Plan
  • Selected Faculty members will be required to obtained admission at their own other than Parent/ serving University in department of University/Degree Awarding Institute who are meeting HEC Quality Assurance Criteria to run a PhD program.
  • Scholar will be required to start the initial research in Pakistan and at any point during research he/she would be required to proceed abroad for a maximum period of 6-12 months with the recommendations of local supervisor and approval of foreign supervisor for research/thesis work. As per local and foreign university arrangements, the scholar can extend the period abroad beyond 12 months with no financial cost on the part of HEC for the extended period.
  • Scholar will prepare the synopsis outlines.
  • Scholar will complete course work in Pakistan and pass the PhD comprehensive examination and in the meantime he/she will finalize and defend the synopsis with the involvement of local and foreign supervisor through video conferencing /Skype/ Viber or any other means.
  • Exact time of the Research session abroad shall be determined on a case-to-case basis, ideally by the respective supervisors with the consent of the scholar.
  • In case of any pre-requisite/additional course while staying aboard, no additional funding will be made.
